UK Rough wells' pressure limit to remain until end-2016-Centrica

LONDON, July 27 (Reuters) - A limit on the maximum operating pressure at wells at Britain's Rough natural gas storage site will remain until the end of 2016 while further tests are carried out, operator Centrica Storage Ltd said on Monday.

CSL limited (Other OTC: CMXHF - news) the wells' operating pressure to 3,000 psi in March after it discovered a potential issue with well integrity.

Tests conducted so far have not uncovered any defects which would prevent an eventual return to a maximum operating pressure of 3,500 psi, Centrica (LSE: CNA.L - news) said. However, further tests will be conducted.

"As a consequence, CSL now estimates that the period of testing and verification works it announced in March 2015 will last until at least the end of the Summer 2016 injection season (between September and December 2016)," CSL said.
