LONDON (ShareCast) - -Markets awaiting results from Apple (NasdaqGS: AAPL - news) , Yahoo (NasdaqGS: YHOO - news) and AMD (NYSE: AMD - news) after close. -Two day FOMC meeting begins today. The main US equity benchmarks are now being called to open moderately lower this morning on Wall Street, with average losses of about 0.5%. That following the lack of agreement last night as regards Greece's private sector debt participation (PSI (Euronext: ^PSI20 - news) ) and ahead of tonight's barrage of quarterly results expected out from a multitude of technology outfits, such as Apple, Yahoo and AMD. Acting as a backdrop, 'market chatter' regarding whether or not stocks will be able to proceed with their rally or not. The latest earnings figures out from the likes of Air Products&Chemicals, Verizon Communications, AK Steel (NYSE: AKS - news) and Travelers have come in weaker than expected. Shares of International Games Group are down sharply after reporting weaker than expected profit figures for the first quarter. On the other hand, results from Mc.Donald's, Cooper, Johnson&Johnson, Texas Instruments (NYSE: TXN - news) , EMC (NYSE: EMC - news) and Harley Davidson (NYSE: HOG - news) have beat expectations. MACROECONOMY Weekly same-store retail chain sales fell by 1.4% according to the latest tally by ICSC.
OTHER MARKETS Front month crude futures are now falling by 0.45% to the $99.13/barrel mark in NYMEX trading. 10 year US Treasuries are rising by 2/32 dollars, with yields at 2.04%. AB
