US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Wall St closes out strong 2016 on weak note
NEW YORK, Dec (Shanghai: 600875.SS - news) 30 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks slumped on the last trading day of the year on Friday, led down by Apple (NasdaqGS: AAPL - news) and other big tech stocks, but major indexes still posted solid gains in 2016.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 56.98 points, or 0.29 percent, to 19,762.8, the S&P 500 lost 10.39 points, or 0.46 percent, to 2,238.87 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 48.97 points, or 0.9 percent, to 5,383.12. (Reporting by Chuck Mikolajczak; Editing by Nick Zieminski)
