HOUSTON, April 5 (Reuters) - April-delivery CARBOB gasoline climbed 3 cents a gallon to 6 cents a gallon over May NYMEX RBOB gasoline in the Los Angeles spot market on Friday as a San Francisco Bay-area refinery reported a malfunction, traders said.
April CARBOB in the San Francisco Bay market rose a penny to 10 cents a gallon over May NYMEX RBOB gasoline.
Royal Dutch Shell Plc (Xetra: A0ET6Q - news) .'s 156,400 barrel per day (bpd) Martinez, California, refinery reported the plant's safety flare was activated after a malfunction on Friday morning.
Gasoline in the Portland, Oregon, market gained 5.25 cents to 2.25 cents over May NYMEX RBOB.
April CARB diesel in the Los Angeles market finished down 1 cent at 5 cents a gallon over May NYMEX heating oil. In the Bay market, CARB diesel was unchanged at 12 cents a gallon over May NYMEX heating oil.
Diesel in the Portland market stayed at 15 cents a gallon over May NYMEX heating oil.
Jet fuel in L.A. dipped 0.5 cent to 5.5 cents a gallon over May NYMEX heating oil.
