KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to
influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Monday.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures climbed to a two-week high on Friday, posting its
first weekly gain out of five, as encouraging export data buoyed investor hopes
for resilient global demand.
* U.S soybeans rose for the second straight day on soaring cash markets, tight
soy stocks and slow farmer selling.
* Brent crude oil fell on Friday, following a two-day, $3 rally, as weak
economic data from the United States sounded a note of caution on growth
prospects in the world's largest oil consumer.
MARKET NEWS
* The U.S. dollar tumbled against the yen on Friday after the Bank of Japan
left its monetary policy unchanged, while benchmark U.S. bond yields fell to
near 4-1/2-month lows after the U.S. economy grew less than expected in the
first quarter.
* Gold fell on Friday but still had its biggest weekly gain in more than 3
months and copper and oil also rose for the week, but commodity markets ended
Friday broadly lower after a two-day run-up.
