| | Scottish Power: energy and gasScottish Power is one of the leading companies in the British energy sector. The group produces, relays, and distributes electricity and provides gas all over Great Britain. Its Energy Retail division provides around 5 million British households and companies with gas and electricity, whilst Energy Wholesale operates power plants, trades in electricity on markets, and now develops wind farms. To distribute the electricity it produces, the company has a high and medium tension relay network managed by its Energy Networks division. Scottish Power also develop activities in North America via PPM Energy (division that the company kept following the sale in 2005 of PacifiCorp), which sales electricity to redistributors (administrations, territorial communities, producers) and oversees natural gas storage. PPM Energy is also highly involved in the field of renewable energies as it develops wind farms and geothermal power plants. |
