Yahoo Finance Neighbours to air Don Hany's first scenes as Pierce Greyson on UK screens

Neighbours' UK fans will get their first glimpse at the new-look Pierce Greyson today (November 13) as Don Hany steps into the role.
Friday's episode on Channel 5 sees Pierce's much-discussed recast play out on screen as his ongoing affair storyline continues. Due to the current gap between UK and Australian broadcasts, viewers in Australia saw the switch three weeks ago.
Tim Robards left Neighbours abruptly in August due to changing travel restrictions in Australia. He chose to fly back to Sydney from Melbourne to be with his wife ahead of the birth of their first child.
Tim had been due to leave the role of Pierce anyway, but departed four weeks early. Show bosses recruited Don to take over the part at short notice, and he'll now be seen playing out the character's exit storyline.

In today's UK scenes, Pierce receives the news that Lisa has had her baby. This is painful to hear after Pierce and Chloe's recent tragedy.
As Pierce withdraws from Chloe once again, he seeks comfort from his new lover Dipi Rebecchi instead.
Speaking to Digital Spy recently, Tim Robards explained: "I was super happy when they were able to replace me. It would have either meant rewrites or replacing me with another actor. I was happy with this, because I knew it would affect less people.
"Pretty much everyone's story on Neighbours was going to start revolving around one of Pierce's storylines, so it's not like you can just rewrite things for one person. They would have had to rewrite every single script, every single episode."

Don added: "Tim had done all the hard work for me! I felt like I was walking into his life for a month. All the relationships were there, and the whole journey was mapped out.
"It was a delight to turn up and jump from one scene to another with all these great people. I honestly can't say I would prefer any other job!"
Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
