Facebook, Inc. Joins the Dating Game, Match Group Inc. Shares Tank 17%

During Facebook, Inc.’s (NASDAQ: FB) F8 developer conference, Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company will be adding a dating feature, in which users will be matched with users that they are not already connected with on the social network. Match Group Inc. (NASDAQ: MTCH), the owner of more than 45 brands of dating services that include Tinder, Match, OkCupid, PlentyofFish, and Meetic, has responded to the news by tanking about 17%, and its parent company, IAC/InteractiveCorp (NASDAQ: IAC), has responded with a 12% drop of its own.
