Google’s Cloud Strategy May Have Woken up Microsoft and Amazon

Last year, Alphabet’s (GOOGL) Google signaled that it was going to shift its competitive strategy in the cloud computing market. The company aims to focus less on undercutting the competition through competitive pricing and more on gaining competitive advantages by focusing on product value and product mix. In 2016, Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN), and Google cut prices of some of their cloud products in a bid to try to win more customers.
