As its key modem supplier, Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) is very well aware of Apple's ambitions, particularly as the latter has been aggressively poaching modem engineers from Qualcomm for years. Apple has even set up shop in Qualcomm's backyard in San Diego.
