Investors have been hoping for a Santa Claus rally, but the stock market hasn't been able to overcome concerns about the prospects for the economy in 2023. As we've seen on numerous occasions in the past, the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) suffered the biggest declines among major market benchmarks, but the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) and S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) lost ground as well.
