Analyzing Colgate-Palmolive’s Q2 Earnings
In the second quarter, Colgate-Palmolive’s (CL) adjusted EPS rose 6.9% YoY (year-over-year) to $0.77, in line with analysts’ expectation. Like peers, the company benefited from its effective tax rate falling. However, cost headwinds and weak organic sales restricted its earnings growth. As shown in the graph below, Colgate-Palmolive has exceeded analysts’ earnings estimate only once in the past five quarters, which may not sit well with investors.
