ECB's Centeno says no yield spread goal in anti-fragmentation tool
The new instrument being designed by the European Central Bank will show its determination to fight the risk of bond market fragmentation, but there will be no goal for specific yield spreads, governing council member Mario Centeno said on Friday. The ECB agreed at an emergency meeting last week to create a new tool to contain divergence in borrowing costs, after yields rose on government bonds issued by indebted countries in the bloc's south, widening their differential with low-risk Germany. Centeno said the new instrument will "fight the risks of fragmentation" as monetary policy is gradually normalised, but that "there is no single typology of indicators to measure the materialization of fragmentation".

TOKYO (Reuters) -SoftBank Group Corp's founder and Chief Executive Masayoshi Son on Friday reiterated the Japanese conglomerate was most likely to list British-based chip designer unit Arm on Nasdaq, while stressing no decision has been made. "Most of Arm's clients are based in Silicon Valley and ... stock markets in the U.S. would love to have Arm," Son told shareholders at the company's annual general meeting. Son said there were also requests to list Arm in London without elaborating on where they came from.

LONDON (Reuters) -Europe's plan to get through a winter of difficult Russian gas supply with significant imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) is at risk, with U.S. supply curtailed by a key plant outage, rising demand in Asia and soaring prices. The region's commitment to sever dependence on Russian supply due to its war with Ukraine has lead to heavy reliance on LNG imports, mainly from the United States, to meet targets on filling gas storage to 80% by November. Countries are bracing for a potential complete cut-off from Russian gas with contingency measures such as increasing coal-fired power generation and LNG as supply via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline drops.
