Putting Qualcomm’s Brazil JV in Perspective

In February 2018, Qualcomm (QCOM) announced that it was teaming up with Universal Scientific Industrial (or USI) in a joint venture that would see the companies set up a chip manufacturing facility in Brazil. USI is a subsidiary of Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (or ASE), a Taiwanese semiconductor company.
