Harsimrat Kaur Badal, A Distinctive Voice In Indian Politics

Born in Delhi in 1966, former Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal debuted in the political arena with the 2009 general election. Kaur is a member of the Shiromani Akali Dal.

Kaur stormed into the gender advocacy space with the launch of the non-profit ‘Nanhi Chhaan’ in 2008.

During her tenure as the Food Processing Industries Minister, Kaur has led several pro-people initiatives such as organic food festivals supporting women entrepreneurs.
