12 Excellent Outfits I Plan on Re-Creating This Spring

·4-min read

It's safe to say that we all need to fall back in love with our clothes again. Don't get me wrong; I've loved lounging around in chic knitted sets, but now I'm making a point of relishing in the art of getting ready once more. However, after months of relying on the same staples day in, day out, if you feel somewhat uninspired when you throw open your wardrobe doors, rest assured you're not alone. I've also felt pangs of uncertainty when I pull out long-forgotten pieces from the depths of my rails.

Instead of letting these feelings overwhelm me back into my leggings, I decided to take to Instagram to indulge in a little scrolling. Any outfit that caught my eye, I saved in my collections. When I revisited them a couple of days later, there were a few looks—12 specifically—that I really loved. The best part is that, aside from a couple of new-season investments, many of the pieces I need to re-create the looks are already somewhere in my wardrobe just waiting to be rediscovered.

Scroll below to see the spring 2021 outfit ideas I love, and then shop the pieces you need to fill any gaps you may have in your closets.

Style Notes: A trench coat is always a good idea, and Amaka has found a way to carry hers into the warmer months by styling it with a bra top and on-trend wide-leg jeans.

Shop the look:

A.W.A.K.E. Mode Trench Coat With Pleated Back Insert (£995)

Hollister Ribbed Longline Triangle Bralet (£17)

Monki Yoko Jeans (£40)

Style Notes: Miniskirts are back on the style agenda for 2021. Give them some retro appeal by pairing them with platform boots, much like French fashion icon Anne-Laure did.

Shop the look:

& Other Stories Alpaca Blend V-Neck Cardigan (£69)

Alexander McQueen Prince of Wales Check Mini Skirt (£670)

Marks and Spencer Block Heel Square Toe Knee High Boots (£45)

Style Notes: Tick off two major spring trends in one by layering a pastel knit over shirting with supersize collars.

Shop the look:

& Other Stories Alpaca Blend Knit Sweater (£85)

H&M Frilled Collar Shirt (£18)

Weekday Rowe Jeans (£40)

Style Notes: All-black outfits aren't necessarily boring. Make like Monikh and wear shades of black in different textures, such as leather and satin, to create a cool contrast.

Shop the look:

Arket Oversized Leather Blazer (£290)

COS Cotton Jersey T-Shirt (£15)

Iris & Ink Brooklyn Slip Skirt (£95)

Style Notes: Outfit combinations don't come much more classic than jeans and a shirt, but Sabina switches up the look by wearing a blue Oxford stripe with grey-toned jeans.

Shop the look:

Arket Relaxed Striped Shirt (£55)

& Other Stories Keeper Cut Cropped Jeans (£65)

Next Leather Ruched Slingback Kitten Heel Shoes (£42)

Style Notes: Jumpsuits are the perfect spring outfit solution. Much like dresses, they require zero styling effort on your part—just pair with your favourite chunky boots.

Shop the look:

Frankie Shop Frankie Jumpsuit (£191)

Dune Prestone Lace-Up Hiker Boots (£145)

Style Notes: This fresh white-and-teal outfit is one of the chicest outfits we've seen in a long while. Until temperatures start to rise, swap TyLynn's tank for an ecru knitted roll-neck.

Shop the look:

Iris & Ink Eleanor Blazer (£165)

Thomas Sabo Double Strand Necklace (£189)

Max Mara Pegno Cady Tapered Trousers (£305)

Bottega Veneta Brown Leather Sandals (£685)

Style Notes: Matching cardigans and tops are still big news this year. Aren't they the perfect way of breathing new life into leggings?

Shop the look:

Altuzarra Beige Isla Cropped Cardigan (£125)

Altuzarra Beige Toria Crop Top (£305)

JW Pei Gabbi Bag (£42)

Girlfriend Collective Compressive High Rise Legging (£65)

Style Notes: A navy skirt suit will always look chic. Wear it with a chunky cable-knit underneath, finish with chunky loafers, and it'll feel very on-trend.

Shop the look:

Who What Wear Navy Cropped Jacket (£65)

Reiss Amelie Cream Cable Knit Jumper (£135)

Nazli Ceren Vance Navy Blue A Line Mini Skirt (£204)

Church's Colleen 40t Polished Loafers (£480)

Style Notes: Jumper dresses are still firmly on our radar, but instead of the neutral palette we've been sporting, we're following Lydia's lead by snapping up a bright iteration that'll carry us through until summer.

Shop the look:

Zara Knit Midi Dress (£30)

Daisy Jewellery Estée Lalonde Wavy Snake Chain 18k Gold-Plated Necklace (£109)

Manolo Blahnik Callamu Patent-Leather Mules (£575)

Style Notes: Leather trousers (be they real or faux) are the ideal solution if you're bored of wearing your jeans, as they provide equal, if not more, warmth in early spring.

Shop the look:

Isabel Marant Emma Jumper (£530)

Nanushka Black Vinni Vegan Leather Trousers (£345)

Prada Vela Nylon Leather-Trimmed Backpack (£895)

Style Notes: What would spring be without gingham? We love Michelle's combination of the picnic print with sunny yellow strides.

Shop the look:

Warehouse Gingham Smocked Blouse (£45)

Meryll Rogge Yellow Twill Trousers (£350)
