It’s so exciting when a ridiculously famous person goes out with a non-celebrity, because it must mean we all stand a chance with Brad Pitt or Tom Hardy.

Or not.

Either way, here are 15 stars keeping it real with their non-famous partners below:

1. Miles Teller and Keleigh Sperry

Whiplash actor Miles got married to model Keleigh Sperry in 2019 after getting engaged during a safari holiday in 2017. The couple met in July 2013, and Miles previously said: "She's lovely. It's been pretty easy because right now, her full-time gig is kind of being with me and before her, I would never invite a girl into that world because I didn't think I could have both.

"She's allowed me to be able to really focus on acting and do what I want to do. She can come to set and visit me and hang out and doesn't really distract me from it."

2. Julia Stiles and Preston J. Cook

The 10 Things I Hate About You star confirmed her wedding to camera assistant Cook with a cute Instagram picture of the couple after they tied the knot on a beach in Seattle.

The pair met on the set of 2015 thriller Blackway, and welcomed their first child together in October 2017.

3. Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth

1D star Louis and fashion influencer and stylist Eleanor got back together in 2017 two years after they initially split up in 2015. The couple were reportedly introduced by Harry Styles in 2011. As of November 2020, Eleanor's got a huge 3.4 million Instagram followers.

6. Eddie Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe

Eddie met Hannah while he was attending Eton College after being introduced by friends at a charity event. The Fantastic Beasts star and the financial publicist married in 2014, and welcomed daughter Iris in June 2016. They welcomed their second child together, a baby boy named Luke, in 2018.

Crediting Hannah for helping him keep his feet on the ground (and keeping him abreast on their household appliances at all times), Eddie previously told E!: "There was a moment yesterday where I was in rehearsal and my wife was calling me because our dishwasher broke down. So in the process of trying to focus on my craft, I was dealing with the blocked pipes."

7. George Clooney and Amal Clooney

George Clooney and human rights lawyer Amal met through mutual friends at a dinner party in 2013 (our friends' dinner parties could definitely do with some work when it comes to the guest list...).

The couple married not long after in Venice in 2014, and welcomed twins - Ella and Alexander - in 2017.

8. Adele and Simon Konecki

It's no surprise that down-to-earth Adele picked a partner out of the spotlight. The 29-year-old singer quietly married charity entrepreneur Simon in 2016, two years after welcoming their first child together - a boy named Angelo - in 2014.

Speaking previously about how Simon handles her fame, Adele told Vanity Fair: "He’s not threatened by any stage of my life that I’m going for, and that’s an amazing thing. It’s the most serious relationship I’ve ever been in; we’ve got a child together and we live together."

Adele filed for divorce from Simon in 2019, citing irreconcilable differences.

9. Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman

Oscar-winning actress Anne and husband Adam always look like one of the happiest couples on the planet. The loved-up pair married in 2012 and welcomed their first child - a son called Jonathan - in 2016. They welcomed their second child in late 2019. Adam runs his own jewellery line called James Banks and has more recently produced films alongside his wife.

OK, so Prince William isn't a celebrity in the traditional sense, but he's even more famous than some of the other people on this list because he's a member of the British royal family. Historically, it was very rare for a royal member to marry a non-royal, but thankfully that's all changed since the latter part of the 20th century.

Wills began dating Kate after meeting at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. They married in 2011 and became the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, welcoming Prince George in 2013, and Princess Charlotte two years later. They welcomed Prince Louis in April 2018.

Breaking Bad star Aaron met anti-bullying activist Lauren at Coachella music festival in 2010, and the ridiculously cute couple tied the knot three years later. Lauren runs The Kind Campaign, which aims to bring awareness and healing of girl-against-girl bullying. They welcomed a daughter in February 2018.

12. Christina Aguilera and Matt Rutler

The Grey's Anatomy star married celebrity hair stylist and makeup artist Jillian Fink in 1999. They first met at a hair salon where Jillian gave him a quick trim. She told People, "I was shocked (when she realised it was him) but at the same time, I was happy because he was so cute." They have since had three children together: Tullala Fyfe was born in 2002 and twins Sullivan Patrick and Darby Galen were born in 2007.

Although Jillian filed for divorce in 2015, the proceedings were called off in 2016. Patrick told People: "Our marriage was not something I was prepared to let go of [..] I didn’t feel like we had done all the work. And we both wanted to do that work. That’s where it started."

Margot and Tom, an assistant director and producer, met on the set of war drama Suite Francais in 2014. They later tied the knot in December 2017 on Australia's Gold Coast. The pair founded the production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, in 2014.

Speaking to US Vogue, Margot said, "We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him, but I thought, 'Oh, he would never love me back. Don't make it weird, Margot. Don't be stupid and tell him that you like him.' And then it happened, and I was like, 'Of course we're together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.'"
