NBA trade deadline tracker: Victor Oladipo to Heat; Kyle Lowry staying with Raptors

The NBA trade deadline had a flurry of moves, including Victor Oladipo reportedly headed to the Miami Heat and Aaron Gordon to the Denver Nuggets. Here's a recap of all the details.

Rockets trade Victor Oladipo to Heat

The Houston Rockets traded guard Victor Oladipo to the Miami Heat on Thursday afternoon, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Miami sent Houston Avery Bradley and Kelly Olynyk in exchange for Oladipo. The two teams also agreed to a pick swap.

Kyle Lowry stays with Raptors

After weeks of speculation, the Toronto Raptors decided not to move Kyle Lowry at the trade deadline.

Lowry was linked to multiple teams, but no offers panned out. He had a vintage performance on Wednesday night, helping the Raptors snap their nine-game losing skid.

Lowry maintained that he wanted to remain with Toronto. He will enter free agency this summer.

LaMarcus Aldridge, Andre Drummond headed for buyouts

The San Antonio Spurs reached a buyout with forward LaMarcus Aldridge, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent. Aldridge and the Spurs mutually agreed to part ways earlier this month, according to head coach Gregg Popovich.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and center Andre Drummond will work on a buyout, league sources tell Yahoo Sports. Drummond last played on Feb. 12 before the Cavaliers announced the 27-year-old center would sit out while the team worked to find a trade partner before Thursday's deadline.

Bulls acquire Daniel Theis from Celtics

The Chicago Bulls acquired center Daniel Theis and guard Javonte Green from the Boston Celtics and forward Troy Brown Jr. from the Washington Wizards as part of a three-team deal, the teams announced Thursday.

The Celtics receive center Luke Kornet from the Bulls. The Wizards received forward Chandler Hutchison and forward/center Daniel Gafford from the Bulls. The Bulls also received cash consideration from both other teams.

Theis is in his fourth season in the league. This season, he's averaging 9.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

Pelicans deal JJ Redick to Mavericks, keep Lonzo Ball

The New Orleans Pelicans are trading shooting guard JJ Redick to the Dallas Mavericks, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.

The Pelicans are also keeping point guard Lonzo Ball, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports. Ball was reportedly a trade candidate ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline.

Marquese Chriss heading to Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs made a rare deadline deal, acquiring Marquese Chriss from the Golden State Warriors for Cady Lalanne, Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes reported.

Lou Williams headed back to Atlanta

The Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to trade Lou Williams to the Atlanta Hawks for Rajon Rondo, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

It's a homecoming for Williams, who also played for the Hawks from 2012-14. Rondo signed with the Hawks as a free agent last offseason after helping the Los Angeles Lakers to a championship in last season's NBA bubble.

Magic trade Aaron Gordon to Nuggets

The Orlando Magic have reportedly traded Aaron Gordon to the Denver Nuggets for Gary Harris, RJ Hampton, and a first-round pick.

According to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, Gordon was open to a change of scenery as the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets and Detroit Pistons inquired about a deal prior to the trade deadline. The Magic valued Gordon, according to Haynes, and attached a substantial price tag to his availability.

Sixers acquire George Hill from Thunder

The Philadelphia 76ers may be indicating that they're out of the running for Kyle Lowry. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Oklahoma City Thunder are trading point guard George Hill to the Sixers in a three-team deal also involving the New York Knicks.

The Thunder reportedly will receive Tony Bradley and two second-round picks from the Sixers. The picks are for 2025 and 2026, according to Wojnarowski, adding to their haul of stockpiled draft picks.

The Knicks reportedly are acquiring Terrance Ferguson, while sending Iggy Brazdeikis to the 76ers and Austin Rivers to the Thunder.

Hill, 34, is in his 13th season in the NBA. He spent several years with both the San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers, but has bounced around over the past few years. The Sixers will be his sixth team since 2017.

Warriors send Brad Wanamaker to Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets reported are acquiring point guard Brad Wanamaker from the Golden State Warriors, according to The Athletic and Stadium's Shams Charania.

This will be Wanamaker's third team in three seasons in the league.

Jazz acquire Matt Thomas from Raptors

The Toronto Raptors reportedly traded guard Matt Thomas to the Utah Jazz. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Jazz will send a future second-round pick to the Raptors.

Thomas is a career 45.8% shooter from the field and 45.7% from 3-point range, adding another weapon to the Jazz's league-best 3-point shooting. He's in his second season in the league.

This clears a roster spot for the Raptors.

Raptors send Norman Powell to Trail Blazers

The Toronto Raptors traded shooting guard Norman Powell to the Portland Trail Blazers for Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood, the teams announced Thursday.

Powell is having a career year, averaging close to 20 points per game while being one of the most efficient shooters in the league. However, with Powell slated to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and in line to earn double his current salary of $11 million, the Raptors must have seen more value in swapping him out for a younger and cheaper shooting guard.

Heat trade Moe Harkless to Kings

The Sacramento Kings reportedly acquired veteran forward Moe Harkless and forward Chris Silva from the Miami Heat, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Heat will receive forward Nemanja Bjelica in return.

Harkless is a 47.8% career shooter over nine seasons with five teams. Both Harkless and Silva are on expiring contracts.

Bulls acquire Mo Wagner, Troy Brown from Wizards

The Chicago Bulls remained active before the trade deadline, acquiring forward Troy Brown and center Mo Wagner from the Washington Wizards for forward/center Daniel Gafford and forward Chandler Hutchinson, the Wizards announced Thursday.

Brown and Wagner are in their third seasons in the league.

Magic trade Evan Fournier to the Celtics

Orlando's rebuild continues. After sending center Nikola Vucevic to the Chicago Bulls, the Magic have reportedly traded Evan Fournier to the Boston Celtics for two second-round picks, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 28-year-old forward will help provide the Celtics with scoring as Fournier is averaging a career-high 19.7 points this season on 46.1% shooting from the field. He's on the last year of a five-year, $85 million contract.

Orlando trades Nikola Vucevic to Chicago

The Magic traded All-Star center Nikola Vucevic and forward Al-Farouq Aminu to the Chicago Bulls for Wendell Carter Jr., Otto Porter Jr. and two first-round picks, the teams announced Thursday. The Bulls are attempting to make the playoffs this season while the Magic on Thursday traded Vucevic, Evan Fournier and Aaron Gordon after the franchise struggled to be competitive.

Cavaliers trade JaVale McGee to Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets are finalizing a deal to acquire JaVale McGee from the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

The 33-year-old McGee will give the Nuggets an athletic backup center to MVP candidate Nikola Jokic. McGee started 68 games for the Los Angeles Lakers on their championship run last season before being dealt to the Cavs.

Cleveland has a wealth of centers since acquiring Jarrett Allen from the Brooklyn Nets earlier this season. Allen assumed the starting job from two-time All-Star Andre Drummond, who could also be on the move at the deadline. Drummond has not played since Feb. 12, when he and the Cavs agreed to seek an alternative landing spot for him.

McGee played sparingly in a Cleveland frontcourt that also includes Larry Nance Jr. The veteran brings averages of eight points and 5.2 rebounds in 15.2 minutes per game to Denver, where he played from 2011-15, prior to a career renaissance that has seen him win three rings with the Lakers and Golden State Warriors over the past four seasons.

Pistons trade Delon Wright to Kings

The Sacramento Kings made another move Wednesday by acquiring point guard Delon Wright from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Cory Joseph and two second-round picks, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The picks are reportedly the Los Angeles Lakers' well-traveled 2021 selection and the Kings own selection in 2024.

The deal represents a decent back-up point guard upgrade for the Kings, with Wright currently averaging 10.1 points, 5.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game. He joins a crowded Kings backcourt featuring De'Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield and rookie Tyrese Haliburton.

Wright is under contract for next season as well, while Joseph's $12.6 million contract option remains likely to be declined at the cost of $2.4 million, per ESPN.

Kings acquire Mfiondu Kabengele

The Sacramento Kings acquired power forward/center Mfiondu Kabengele from the Los Angeles Clippers, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal sends a future second-round pick and cash to Sacramento, while Los Angeles gets a future second-round pick.

The deal satisfied an expiring trade exception and gets the Clippers $2.6 million under the hard cap with a roster spot available, Wojnarowski reported.

Kabengele, 6-foot-9, 250 pounds, is in his second season in the league after being selected by the Brooklyn Nets with the 27th overall pick of the 2019 NBA draft. He averages 4.1 minutes per game in clean-up duty.
