  • The 2022 Chevrolet Corvette will be offered in three new colors: Amplify Orange, Caffeine, and Hypersonic Gray.

  • The mid-engine C8 Corvette is powered by a 490-hp 6.2-liter V-8.

  • Orders for the 2022 model will open in early July.

Chevrolet added two new exterior color choices—Red Mist and Silver Flare—to the mid-engine C8 Corvette for the 2021 model year and made it $1000 more expensive. Now the Corvette will get three new colors for 2022, its third model year with the engine mounted behind the cockpit.

The three new color choices are Amplify Orange, which is a premium color that'll cost more; Caffeine (pictured above); and Hypersonic Gray (pictured below). Previous changes for the 2021 model included standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability and new display options for the digital gauge cluster, including the tachometer in Track mode. Additionally, magnetorheological dampers are a stand-alone option instead of solely being available as part of the Z51 Performance package.

The eighth-generation Corvette is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V-8 that produces 490 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. In our test of the C8, it launched to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds on its way to a 11.2-second quarter-mile at 122 mph.

Orders for the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette will open in early July, and pricing shouldn't rise too much over the 2021 model's $60,995 starting price.
