What the 2024 Nominees Wore to Their First Vanity Fair Oscars Party: Emma Stone Goes Strapless, Billie Eilish Suits Up in Gucci Logomania and More

A number of stars are getting ready for one of Hollywood’s biggest nights. The Oscars are on Sunday in Los Angeles, and the red carpet to the awards show won’t be the only one some celebrities walk. After the Academy Awards concludes, some of the guests celebrate at Vanity Fair’s annual Oscars party.

The arrival on the carpet for the soiree will feature a number of familiar faces. Some of this year’s nominees attended the event in the past.

Emma Stone attended her first Vanity Fair Oscars Party in 2010. She wore a simple strapless black dress with a high slit and a pair of black heels. Stone accessorized with a pair of bold emerald green earrings. The actress has earned four Oscar nominations for acting and one win for her work in 2016’s “La La Land.” This year, she’s nominated in the Best Actress category for her performance in the film “Poor Things.”

Carey Mulligan, 2010

Carey Mulligan’s debut was in 2010, wearing a Prada gown with a black satin clutch and heels by Prada. She accessorized with jewelry from Fred Leighton. Mulligan earned her first Oscar nomination that same year for her performance in the film “An Education.” She earned her second Oscar nomination for her work in 2020’s “Promising Young Woman.” This year, she’s nominated for Best Actress for her performance as Felicia Montealegre in “Maestro.”

Emily Blunt, 2015

Emily Blunt chose Prada in 2015 for her first appearance on the Vanity Fair carpet. She was pregnant at the time with her second daughter, whom she shares with husband John Krasinski. Blunt earned her first Oscar nomination this year for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in “Oppenheimer.”

Greta Gerwig, 2013

Greta Gerwig wore a draped gown in navy blue and black in 2013 for her debut. The writer and director has been nominated for four Academy Awards. She earned her first two nominations in Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for her 2017 film “Lady Bird,” followed by a nomination in 2019 for Best Adapted Screenplay for her take on “Little Women.” This year, Gerwig is nominated Best Adapted Screenplay alongside her partner Noah Baumbach for “Barbie.”

In 2013, Margot Robbie attended her first Vanity Fair Oscars Party. The actress and producer wore a cream-colored minidress with intricate floral detailing and sheer fabric on the bodice. Robbie has been nominated for three Oscars. Her first nomination came in 2018 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for “I,Tonya.” In 2020, she was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for 2019’s “Bombshell.” This year, she earned her first Oscar nomination as a producer for Best Picture nominee “Barbie.”

In 2019, America Ferrera wore a glitter silver sleeveless gown by Tadashi Shoji. She was styled by Karla Welch, with hair done by Aviva Jansen Perea, and makeup by Vanessa Scali. Ferrera’s husband, Ryan Piers Williams, joined her at the event. The actress earned her first Oscar nomination this year for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for “Barbie.”

Billie Eilish, 2020

Billie Eilish attended her first Vanity Fair Oscars Party in 2020 in this sparkling black suit by Gucci emblazoned with embellished logos. The singer went on to win her first Oscar at the 2022 Academy Awards for Best Original Song with “No Time To Die,” from the 007, James Bond film of the same name. This year, she and her brother, Finneas O’Connell, are nominated in the same category for their song “What Was I Made For?” from “Barbie.”
