Yahoo Finance The 30 guests chosen to attend Prince Philip's funeral
The Duke of Edinburgh will have a ceremonial funeral at St George's Chapel in Windsor on Saturday afternoon (April 17th), with only 30 guests able to attend due to coronavirus restrictions.
Prince Charles, eldest son of the Queen and Prince Philip, and first in line to the throne, and Princess Anne, the only daughter of the Queen and Philip, will lead the eight-minute long procession, during which the coffin of Prince Philip will be carried in a modified Land Rover from the castle to the chapel.
The Queen will join the funeral procession to the chapel, and follow the royal family members walking on foot in the state Bentley.
Prince Edward and Prince Andrew, sons of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, will follow behind Charles and Anne. Behind Edward and Andrew will be the Duke of Cambridge, second in line to the throne, and the Duke of Sussex. They will be separated by Peter Phillips, the only son of Princess Anne.
Peter's daughters are Savannah and Isla, who were two of the seven great-grandchildren of Prince Philip and the Queen to feature in the recently released family photo that commemorated Philip's role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
The Duchess of Cambridge will be in attendance but the Duchess of Sussex will remain in America as she is heavily pregnant, expecting her second child with Prince Harry.
Zara Tindall, the daughter of Anne and brother to Peter, will attend with husband Mike Tindall. Princess Beatrice and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi; and Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank will also attend.
Sophie the Countess of Wessex, married to Prince Edward, will be joined by their two children - Lady Louise, and James, Viscount Severn James.
Edward, Duke of Kent, and Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, are also on the list. Edward is a first cousin of the Queen, through his father, while his mother was a cousin to Philip. Richard, a full-time working member of the royal family, is first cousin to the Queen.
Guests also include Princess Alexandra, cousin of the Queen; Prince Bernhard, Prince Philip's great-nephew; and Prince Donatus, representing the Hesse family which Prince Phillip's two sisters - Ceceille and Sophie - married into.
Prince Philip, one of the Duke of Edinburgh's great-nephews; David Armstrong-Jones, son of Princess Margaret and the Queen's nephew; Lady Mountbatten, whose husband Norton Knatchbull's mother was third cousin of the Queen; Lady Sarah Chatto, Margaret's daughter and the Queen's only niece; and Daniel Chatto, married to the Queen's niece, Lady Sarah, complete the guest list.
