Yahoo Finance £300,000 package available for Grenfell businesses
Businesses affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy were on Wednesday urged to come forward and make use of a new £300,000 relief package.
The support comprises the suspension of business rates until January for those that had no, or restricted, access to premises in the aftermath of the June fire, while office tenants at Baseline Studios will not have to pay rent until 2018.
Firms that have seen a reduction in trade can also apply for hardship relief.
The support fund has been made available by Kensington and Chelsea council, the Greater London Authority and Portobello Business Centre.
Councillor Elizabeth Campbell, leader of Kensington and Chelsea Council, said: “This is a positive step and we want to help the local community, so I would urge those that need help to come forward."
She added: “We will be providing help with rent, rates, and premises as well as much needed-financial support and advice. We are determined to begin rebuilding confidence and these measures will help get local businesses back on their feet.”
