So you’re dying to crack open a beer but don’t have an opener. Luckily, one life hacker came up with 50 ways to open a beer bottle without one.
Maybe you don’t want to go out to the store because of the lockdown or maybe you ordered an opener online but it’s yet to come because of delivery delays. Either way, it sounds like it’s time to get crafty.
In one video, a vlogger demonstrated 50 hacks that can open a beer bottle without an opener. He started with using the buckle of his watch strap, then a credit card and the corner of his smartphone. He also used a tree stump, a guitar string, a pinky ring, the spine of a book, a pair of scissors, a pair of shoelaces, highlighters and a remote to name just a few.
OK so maybe this guy is just good at opening beer bottles. According to the Family Handyman, a more reliable way to open a beer bottle is by snipping it off with scissors.
“Grab a pair of strong scissors and grab a piece of the bottle cap with the scissors. Start twisting upward and repeat around the cap until it pops off,” the website stated.
It also suggested prying the bottle open with a metal spoon, using a belt buckle or trying the bottom of a plastic lighter.
