Yahoo Finance 63 million stream 'Bridgerton' on Netflix over record Christmas

Netflix has said that its hit period drama Bridgerton has been watched by more than 63 million accounts so far, in just 28 days on release.
The streamer – which does not have its stats verified independently – has said that this figure makes the show its fifth highest-rated original show ever.
It's hit number one in a staggering 76 countries, including the UK, the US, France, Brazil and South Africa, and other than in Japan, it's reached the top 10 in every country Netflix operates in.

Per Netflix, a counted 'view' comprises 'one subscriber watching at least two minutes of content'.
The show, made by Grey's Anatomy and Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes, is set in Regency London, during the high society social season of debutantes being presented at Queen Charlotte's annual ball.
Narrated by Julie Andrews, who voices society newsletter editor Lady Whistledown, it focuses on the Bridgerton family, as their eldest daughter Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) makes her debut.

It also stars Rege-Jean Page, Jonathan Bailey, Adjoa Andoh, Ben Miller and Golda Rosheuvel.
It's Rhimes' first show for Netflix, after she signed a massive $150 million deal with them in 2017.
The big numbers come as the platform says it's had its biggest ever viewing figures for a December in its history, and its biggest ever Christmas week.
Also proving a hit for the streamer has been George Clooney sci-fi drama The Midnight Sky, which has been seen in 72 million households since its release on December 11.
Also starring Felicity Jones and David Oyelowo, and with Clooney also behind the camera, it finds his scientist Augustine Lofthouse journeying through the Arctic on a mission to warn a spacecraft from landing on Earth following a global cataclysm.
However, while it's been a hit in terms of figures for Netflix, critics have been less convinced.
