From House Beautiful

Before you have a Marie Kondo-style declutter of your home, consider holding onto your items a little bit longer, as they could be worth more than you think.

We all have things tucked away at home, whether it be in the attic or pushed to the back of a bedroom drawer. But many things we often discard in an instant could actually be worth thousands over the next 50 years.

A new study conducted by packaging supplier Rajapack alongside Antiques Roadshow expert Wayne Colquhoun has discovered which household items could make you rich — and they're things many of us may have tucked away on shelves or in cabinets.

'The printed word for me will never go away. There is an intrinsic craft to the science that creates the beauty that lies within the production of a book. And as traditional skills decline, real craftsmanship will prevail and rise in value,' Wayne explains.

'I think books will be with us forever and remain a sturdy and strong investment. In the case of the best of the best and the rarest of the rare, they will be the best way to see your money grow in the most pleasurable of ways.'
