Investing.com - Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI) reported second quarter earnings that beat analysts' expectations on Thursday and revenue that topped forecasts.

The firm reported earnings per share of $0.38 on revenue of $1.21B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $0.26 on revenue of $1.19B. That compared to EPS of $0.4 on revenue of $1.39B in the same period a year earlier. The company had reported EPS of $0.31 on revenue of $1.26B in the previous quarter.

Activision Blizzard shares lost 4.48% to trade at $47.12 in after-hours trade following the report.

Activision Blizzard follows other major Technology sector earnings this month

On July 18, Microsoft reported fourth quarter EPS of $1.37 on revenue of $33.72B, compared to forecasts of EPS of $1.21 on revenue of $32.77B.
