Actor Damian Lewis back in his Homeland

Actor Damian Lewis back in his Homeland

HOMELAND fans passing the Guildhall yesterday were in for a treat – actor Damian Lewis had stopped by to read a handful of Shakespeare’s sonnets in celebration of the bard’s 450th birthday.

The actor revealed his day out in the City certainly wasn’t his first: “My sister was married in the Guildhall church, my mum’s funeral was there, my grandfather was once the Lord Mayor and I attended the Guildhall School of Music & Drama,” he told The Capitalist. Phew! It truly was a homecoming.

“For so many people the City is just a place where people in suits come everyday but it’s just full of little glories if you spend the day walking around. It’s full of extraordinary places, like the Guildhall, and so much more than banks.” Indeed!
