Acuity Brands, Inc. Unveils RUBIK(TM) Luminaires: Revolutionary Lighting For Grid Ceiling Systems

ATLANTA - April 26, 2016 - Acuity Brands, Inc. (AYI) today introduced RUBIK(TM) luminaires from Mark Architectural Lighting(TM), a new family of recessed LED luminaires for grid ceilings that offers unparalleled design flexibility with dynamic lighting capabilities. Dynamic features, such as tunable white, grayscale and color accent, enable lighting to enhance spaces, strengthen a design statement or fit the lighting to an activity or time of day.

RUBIK luminaires can be arranged in traditional layouts or positioned to create unique geometric, clustered, or free-form patterns without modifying the ceiling. The luminaires are designed to work together in standard 2` x 2` ceiling grid systems and are available in three, five, and nine cell forms.

RUBIK offers four dynamic illumination approaches:

• White delivers volumetric lighting with a fresh, modern aesthetic. An efficient planar lens with simple gridded treatment provides low glare, no pixelization and application versatility.

• Tunable White creates modes for optimal occupant experience and performance. Available in both a Rhythm Range (3000K to 5000K) and Productivity Range (2700K to 6500K), the RUBIK luminaire`s skylight-like appearance makes time-of-day dynamic effects versatile and compelling.

• Grayscale ushers in a new way to light spaces with a sense of playfulness and visual interest, using dappled light without compromising volumetric performance. An optional kinetic mode offers luminous dynamics while maintaining constant illumination. Ideal for creating modern and decorative patterns that either stand alone or integrate with the ambient lighting system.

• Color Accent adds the impact of color without colorizing the illumination of the space. RUBIK luminaires offer a rich architectural palette from pastels to deeply saturated, stained glass-like colors, ideally suited to set mood, reinforce corporate identity or punctuate the impact of a RUBIK design.

All RUBIK luminaire configurations are available with dynamic features, which are integrated with intuitive nLight® controls.
