Adam Perkins death: Vine fans pay tribute to internet star
Fans are paying tribute to Vine and TikTok star Adam Perkins, who has died, aged 24.
The viral sensation’s twin brother, Patrick Perkins, announced the news in an emotional Instagram, writing: “I can’t even really put into words what this loss means for me.”
A cause of death is yet to be announced.
Following the news, tributes have poured in for Perkins, who was best known for his “Welcome to Chili’s” video.
The clip, which mocked adverts for the American restaurant chain Chili’s, was watched more than 20 millions times in 2015.
Vine star Rickey Thompson commented on Patrick’s post with a crying emoji. Meanwhile, Perkins’ close friend and ex-boyfriend, Kelton Elliott, wrote on Instagram: “This past weekend my forever best friend and ex-boyfriend passed, and I’ve been devastated.â”
He added: “We spent almost every day and night in 2020 and 2021 together in our little home until I temporarily relocated to Oregon. We were there for each other during the hardest year of our lives.”
One fan wrote: “I am actually devastated that Adam Perkins died. The ‘*gasp* adam!’ and ‘hi welcome to Chilli’s’ vines are two of my favourites and ones I quote constantly. I feel awful for his brother. May he rest in peace.”
Another said: “I’m at a loss for words. Thinking of you and your family. You and Adam have been making me smile since 2014, love you both,” with another stating: “Rest in peace to a legend.”

Can’t believe Adam Perkins passed away. Most people knew him from vine, but he also made incredibly beautiful music. Please give it a listen if you could for not only him but his brother 🖤 https://t.co/rpR0ello3i
