Soothe aches and pains with a hottie bottie that's less than £7

(The Independent)

Things that provide a little bit of comfort and cosiness are good at the best of times, but during a cold winter lockdown, they’re even more important. And if it can help keep heating costs down, it’s even more of a win. Investing in a hot water bottle is a no-brainer.

Luckily, Aldi is now selling a long hot water bottle at the fraction of the price of similar designs, which would usually set you back somewhere in the region of £20. The budget-friendly retailer is offering its version of the popular product for just £6.49, and we think it’s going to be your wintertime saviour.

Measuring 58cm in length, the design means you can easily wrap it around areas of your body, such as your neck or lower back, to ease aches and pains. Unlike standard-sized water bottles, this long version will keep a larger area warm, too.

In our opinion, this looks like an absolute gamechanger, so here’s everything you need to know about Aldi’s £6.49 long hot water bottle.

You can trust our independent round-ups. We may earn commission from some of the retailers, but we never allow this to influence selections, which are formed from real-world testing and expert advice. This revenue helps to fund journalism across The Independent.

Whether you’re snuggling down on the sofa or want to stay warm while working from home, this long hot water bottle is the answer. According to the brand, it holds 1l of water and is 58cm long. Owing to its length, we suggest laying it out in your bed before you get in to enjoy the warmth as soon as you’ve finished your night-time routine. The knitted cover is removable and it also comes in grey, depending on your preference.

While we can’t vouch for this exact one, the YuYu luxury fleece long hot water bottle (YuYu, £33) featured in our review of the best hot water bottles. Our writer praised it for staying blissfully warm for six hours. If you’re looking for a budget alternative, this latest supermarket launch could be for you.
