Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s son has weighed in on the feud between his father and Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho.

The two bosses clashed about Son Heung-min’s reaction to being hit in the face by Scott McTominay during United’s 3-1 win over Spurs on Sunday.

The South Korean star was fouled in the lead up to a goal which was later disallowed due to VAR.

Post-match Solskjaer accused the Spurs forward of ‘conning’ the referee. He said: “If my son stays down like this for three minutes and he gets his 10 mates around him to help him up, yeah, he won’t get any food.

“I’m saying the same now as I did the first time we played them. We weren’t conned, the referee was.”

Upon hearing the comments, Mourinho was furious and countered: “Sonny is very lucky that his father is a better person than Ole. Because as a father you have always to feed your kids, doesn’t matter what they do.

“If you have to steal to feed your kids you steal. I’m very, very disappointed.

“With me, like we say in Portugal, bread is bread and cheese is cheese. I have told Ole already what I think about his comments.”

Now Solskjaer’s son has reacted to Mourinho who he said made his comments to detract from the fact Spurs lost to his father’s team.

20-year-old Noah told Tidens Krav: “Yes, I laughed a lot on Sunday too. I always get food, I can assure everyone about that. [Team-mate] Max [Williamsen] asked me if I had been given food when he met me before training today.

“I have never been lying down the way Son did. Mourinho probably just wanted to take the focus away from the fact they had lost.”

The defeat means Spurs remain in seventh place and are five points outside of the top five. Mourinho’s aim to secure European football for his club is fading with his next chance to secure points coming on Friday against Everton, who are in their own battle for fifth place.

While the victory for United meant they closed the gap on table leaders Manchester City to 11 points after Pep Guardiola’s side fell to defeat to Leeds United.
