Amazon Prime Day 2021 is almost upon us, and this year the two-day shopping extravaganza will run between June 21 until June 22. There's expected to be millions of epic deals and discounted items across the site, on everything from tech to homeware, garden furniture, children's toys and beauty.

As summer is here, many of us will be searching for items to update our outdoor spaces and wardrobes, and as lots of us continue to work from home as a result of the pandemic, many of us might also be on the lookout for bargain prices on tablets, laptops and smartphones too. Here's everything you need to know, and how to make sure you get the best discounts this year:

What is Amazon Prime Day?

It's the e-tailer's huge sale, essentially. Now in its seventh year, Amazon Prime Day sees products discounted across the site – and it includes everything from big-name brands to little-known companies. Amazon's own range of devices usually enjoys some of the very best discounts on Prime Day too.

The event is a chance to get your hands on some serious bargains, but it does require some planning ahead so you know what to look for and when. Which is where we come in...

When is Amazon Prime Day 2021?

The event originally lasted just one day, but has since been expanded to two. This year, Amazon Prime Day 2021 will begin at 12.01am on Monday, June 21, until 11.59pm on Tuesday, June 22.

Last year, the event was delayed until October, taking place on the 13th to the 14th, due to the pandemic.

How does Amazon Prime Day work?

Firstly, before you can shop, you need to be signed up to Amazon Prime.

Anyone eligible can join Prime or start a FREE 30-day trial any time to participate, by visiting Amazon Prime Day here:

SIGN UP FOR FREE NOW

After the trial is up, you'll be charged £7.99 a month, but you can cancel at any time. The subscription also includes Prime Music and Prime Video.

Once you're in, you'll be able to shop all the best deals. Some will be running throughout the whole event, while others – called Lightning Deals – will only be around for a short amount of time. The best way to keep an eye on these is to refresh the Amazon homepage at regular intervals.

The Amazon shopping app is also a great way to stay alert to Lightening Deals, which may only last for a couple of hours at a time or while stocks last.

What are the best Amazon Prime Day Deals?

As of yet, we don't know exactly what will be discounted during the event. However, past years have included GHD straighteners, Le Creuset cookware, garden furniture, high-end beauty brands and fashion.

In 2020, Prime Day saw huge discounts across Amazon's entire range of devices, providing shoppers with the chance of picking up incredible deals on Kindles, Ring doorbells and Fire tablets, while also giving us an idea of what we can expect from 2021's sale.

So it's almost a given that the brand's own tech – so the Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show, tablets etc, will also be reduced.

Swedish skincare range FOREO, a favourite of Jessica Alba, Myleene Klass and Miranda Kerr, have revealed which of their best-selling items will be on discount on Amazon Prime Day. For their devices:

Luna 3 smart cleansing and firming massage brush will have 25% OFF - down from £169, to £126.75, saving £42.25

BaByliss Berry Crush Straightener is also marked down from £75.00 to £25.99, with a saving of £47.01.

Discounted tech items include Echo Buds, from £119.99 down t0 £49.99, with a saving of £70.00, while a Fire HD 10 tablet is now priced at £124.99, down from £179.99, with a saving of £55.00.

We'll be rounding up some more of the best offers across a range of categories during the event, so make sure you check here for updates.
