Amer Sports Insider Ups Holding During Year

From what we can see, insiders were net buyers in Amer Sports, Inc.'s (NYSE:AS ) during the past 12 months. That is, insiders acquired the stock in greater numbers than they sold it.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Amer Sports Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The Independent Director Dennis Wilson made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$324m worth of shares at a price of US$13.00 each. That implies that an insider found the current price of US$13.87 per share to be enticing. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. If someone buys shares at well below current prices, it's a good sign on balance, but keep in mind they may no longer see value. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider bought shares at close to current prices. Dennis Wilson was the only individual insider to buy shares in the last twelve months.

Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
