America's Got Talent: Extreme stuntman Jonathan Goodwin has shared a hopeful message following his on-set accident.

Goodwin, who was a semi-finalist on AGT in 2020 and made the finals of Britain's Got Talent in 2019, had returned to the show's spin-off focused on dangerous stunts.

Following a horrific injury sustained recently, he took to Instagram to share a picture from his hospital bed.

"A couple of days ago my life took a complete left turn… and the out pouring of love from all the corners of the world; from people I didn't even think would know or remember me… has just been astonishing," he wrote in a post published on October 20.

"I have been to the very brink and dodged the worst that a human being can, without fear…because I was protected by love," he continued, thanking his fiancée Amanda.

"To death I say nananana boo boo… and to the rest of you… watch this space. There is a long road to recovery and that won’t look like what it did…I may leave the daft shit alone for a while, but I have a lot left to do in this world," he finally added.

The stuntman and escapologist was left in a trauma unit in hospital after one of his acts went horribly wrong earlier this month.

Goodwin's stunt saw him suspended in a straightjacket in the air, while two cars dangled either side of him, 70 feet off the ground. The plan was for him to escape before the cars smashed into each other, but something didn't go as planned and he didn't manage to get out in time.

The cars hit each other with him caught in between them, then they caught fire. Goodwin fell to the ground and hit his head. Production of the spin-off was later suspended.

Get well soon, Jonathan!
