Analysts Are Betting On Profire Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:PFIE) With A Big Upgrade This Week

Shareholders in Profire Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:PFIE) may be thrilled to learn that the analysts have just delivered a major upgrade to their near-term forecasts. The revenue forecast for this year has experienced a facelift, with the analysts now much more optimistic on its sales pipeline.

After this upgrade, Profire Energy's two analysts are now forecasting revenues of US$43m in 2022. This would be a sizeable 25% improvement in sales compared to the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are supposed to tumble 45% to US$0.01 in the same period. Previously, the analysts had been modelling revenues of US$38m and earnings per share (EPS) of US$0.01 in 2022. It seems analyst sentiment has certainly become more bullish on revenues, even though they haven't changed their view on earnings per share.

Another way we can view these estimates is in the context of the bigger picture, such as how the forecasts stack up against past performance, and whether forecasts are more or less bullish relative to other companies in the industry. One thing stands out from these estimates, which is that Profire Energy is forecast to grow faster in the future than it has in the past, with revenues expected to display 57% annualised growth until the end of 2022. If achieved, this would be a much better result than the 10% annual decline over the past five years. Compare this against analyst estimates for the broader industry, which suggest that (in aggregate) industry revenues are expected to grow 12% annually. So it looks like Profire Energy is expected to grow faster than its competitors, at least for a while.

The Bottom Line

The most important thing to take away is that there's been no major change in sentiment, with analysts reconfirming that earnings per share are expected to continue performing in line with their prior expectations. Fortunately, analysts also upgraded their revenue estimates, and our data indicates sales are expected to perform better than the wider market. Given that analysts appear to be expecting substantial improvement in the sales pipeline, now could be the right time to take another look at Profire Energy.
