A teenager has been stabbed to death and another seriously injured in a double knife attack in the same playing fields where girl scout Jodie Chesney was murdered in 2019.

A member of the public tried to help police revive the boy after officers were called to reports of a fight in Church Road, Harold Hill at 6.40pm tonight.

The boy, believed to be aged in his mid-teens, was suffering from a stab injury but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 7.07pm.

The Met said they are in the process of tracing the teen’s family. Minutes later police got another call about a boy roughly the same age being stabbed metres away in Retford Road next to Amy’s Park.

The murder took place in the same playing fields where Jodie Chesney was stabbed in the back by two attackers who emerged suddenly out of the dark night.

The 17-year-old Girl Scout was left screaming in agony and bleeding heavily as neighbours battled in vain to save her life.

The stabbing happened at around 9.20pm on March 1, as Jodie sat on a picnic bench in Amy’s Park in Harold Hill, east London, chatting and listening to music.

A judge said Jodie was the victim of “callous, casual and irresponsible violence” which had shocked the community “to the core”.

The two teenagers convicted of killing schoolgirl Jodie Chesney were jailed for a total of 44 years.

Drug dealer Svenson Ong-a-Kwie, 19, from Romford has been jailed at the Old Bailey for life with a minimum term of 26 years.

While 17-year-old Arron Isaacs from Barking was locked up for at least 18 years for his part in Jodie’s murder.

He was taken to an east London hospital; we await an update on his condition.

Homicide detectives from the Specialist Crime Command have been informed.

One male has been arrested on suspicion of murder; a woman has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
