I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here made its long awaited return to screens on Sunday (15 November) and presenters Ant and Dec wasted no time in poking fun at the contestants.

The Geordie pair couldn’t help but gently mock parasport star Hollie Arnold after she introduced herself as an MBE.

Arnold was awarded the honour in 2017 for services to field athletics.

The understandably proud athlete dropped the title in when introducing herself to fellow contestants while communicating via walkie-talkie.

It wasn’t missed by Ant and Dec, and when the show cut back to the pair they duly made fun of the formal introduction.

With the show this year taking place in Wales, they made reference to being in the same time zone as viewers with a "quick time-check".

When Ant provided the time, Dec said: "Thanks for that, Ant."

Ant responded: "It's actually Ant McPartlin OBE."

Viewers also found the formal introduction amusing, with many taking to social media to point it out.

One person tweeted ““i’m hollie arnold MBE” hahaha ok cool i’m joe 5 GCSES nice to meet you.”

Another said: “Even @antanddec throwing shade on Hollie Arnold MBE. This is delicious.”

The show this year was forced to relocate to Gwrych Castle near Abergale, north Wales, due to coronavirus restrictions.

Show bosses still managed to secure an impressive line-up though, and Arnold isn’t the only campmate distinguished with a royal honour.

Fellow athlete Sir Mo Farrah, who is the most decorated British track athlete in the modern Olympics, was awarded a CBE in 2013 for his services to athletics.

He was then given a knighthood in 2017.

I’m A Celebrity continues on ITV tonight at 9pm.
