'Fire and Fury' about Trump's White House sells big 2nd week

NEW YORK (AP) — A company that tracks retail book sales says Michael Wolff's "Fire and Fury" sold more than 190,000 hardcover copies last week.

NPD BookScan tells The Associated Press that combined sales of hardcover, e-books and audio books now top 500,000.

Wolff's account of a dysfunctional Trump administration has topped best-seller lists since coming out this month. President Donald Trump has likely helped sales by frequently denouncing the book as fiction and threatening to sue. Publisher Henry Holt and Co. has struggled to keep copies available.

Last week, CEO John Sargent of Holt parent company Macmillan told the AP that "Fire and Fury" had sold more 250,000 copies as an e-book and more than 100,000 in audio.

BookScan announced the new results Wednesday. It tracks around 85 percent of retail sales.
