Yahoo Finance Apple Prepares To Unveil Brand New iPhone
Apple (NasdaqGS: AAPL - news) chief executive Tim Cook is about to unveil the new iPhone - with rumours suggesting a new 'iPad Pro' could also be on the cards.
He's taken to the stage in front of a huge audience in San Francisco for what Apple is calling a "special event".
He said: "We are about to make some monster announcements."
Mr Cook kicked off with the Apple Watch, the company's newest product line. His team of executives then described the new apps that were coming to the watch, including Facebook Messenger.
A health app called Airstrip was also shown off.
Updated versions of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models are widely expected, with faster processors, better battery life, and potentially a new type of screen which responds to different strengths of touch.

Some Apple watchers have predicted a new larger model of the iPad, known as the iPad Pro - as well as the usual incremental improvements to the existing iPad models.
The Pro version could see an ultra-high-resolution screen implemented.
A big update to the Apple TV device is also likely.
And in true Apple style there could be a number of other surprises up Mr Cook's sleeve.
