If you’re a keen baker and have been enjoying this year’s Great British Bake Off as much as the rest of the nation, maybe it’s time you were the one being yelled at by Paul Hollywood for not having the right level of springiness in your bread?
Does that sound like something you might be interested in? Because if so, applications for next year’s Bake Off have officially opened!
Now, before you go getting carried away and picking out colourful blouses that would get Prue Leith on side (and Noel Fielding, tbh), there are some stipulations to take into consideration.
In order to apply for The Great British Bake Off 2021, you need to be at least 16 years old by January 1st 2021.
You also must NOT be a professional baker, chef or cook, or have acquired a professional cooking qualification within the last 10 years.
You must also be free to film the show between April and August in 2021.
If that all works for you, get applying! But you better move fairly quickly as applications close at 23.59pm on Sunday 6th December.
According to Love Productions, which is the company that makes the Bake Off, producers take a lot into consideration when picking potential bakers for the show.
“When selecting applicants for the Programme Love Productions will, amongst other factors take into account: skill, enthusiasm, drive and love of baking. Love Productions is looking for lively characters that are comfortable being filmed.
“Love Productions will be looking for a mix of contestants to reflect the range in age, location, gender and diversity of amateur bakers in Britain.”
What are you still doing here? You should be writing your Bake Off application!
