Ariana Grande is a married woman after saying “I do” to Dalton Gomez, her partner of over a year.

The chart-topping pop star, 27, shocked fans today by confirming the couple had tied the knot in an intimate ceremony, reportedly at her home in Montecito, California.

A representative confirmed they got married in front of less than 20 people.

In a statement, they said to People: “They got married. It was tiny and intimate – less than 20 people. The room was so happy and full of love. The couple and both families couldn’t be happier.”

The surprise wedding is the latest chapter in Grande and Gomez’s whirlwind romance.

The couple were first linked early last year after being spotted out and about together in Los Angeles. However, they have mainly kept their relationship out of the spotlight.

They reportedly met after Gomez, 25, a real estate agent, helped Grande go house hunting.

Gomez, who was born and raised in Southern California, works for real estate company Aaron Kirman Group and reportedly has a number of high-profile clients including Miley Cyrus.

“From this vast experience, Mr Gomez now holds one of the largest rolodexes of A-list buyers and is already connecting many high profile deals across the city,” Gomez’s bio on the company website reads. “Highly sought after for his extensive knowledge in the fields of significant architecture and luxury estates, he is quickly becoming an industry titan.”

According to the company website, Gomez has recently sold luxury homes ranging in price up to almost $13 million.

The couple reportedly made the decision back in March 2020 to live together as the pandemic raged across the world.

Their relationship was confirmed in May when Gomez featured in the music video for Stuck With U, Grande’s lockdown-inspired single with Justin Bieber.

The pop star cuddled up to Gomez before they shared a dance in her bedroom.

In June, Grande made it Instagram official and posted a picture of Gomez kissing her on the cheek to celebrate her 27th birthday.

She marked her boyfriend’s birthday in August with a touching social media post.

Grande shared a series of videos, including two clips showing Gomez gently kissing her on the cheek.

She wrote in the caption: “hbd to my baby my best friend my fav part of all the days i love u.”

October brought some of Grande’s most risque music yet with album Positions, which featured her singing about love and lust, apparently inspired by her relationship with Gomez.

In what is perhaps her most explicit song, the provocatively titled 34+35, Grande sings about desire while POV was about wanting to see herself through her lover’s eyes.

December brought news of the couple’s engagement after less than a year of dating.

The delighted singer shared a selection of pictures to Instagram, including one of her engagement ring.

“forever n then some,” she wrote in the caption.

Gomez worked with jeweller Jack Solow to create a one-of-a-kind engagement ring festuring a diamond and a pearl.

Solow previously shared how Grande’s engagement ring came together.

“Dalton was involved in every step of the selection process through FaceTime and Zoom since he was on the west coast and I was here in my office in New York. He was very, very specific about what he wanted,” Solow told E! News.

“He had very strong feelings about how he wanted this to look, a contemporary kind of way. It was his idea to do the diamond on an angle and he said to me we had to incorporate a pearl into the finished piece because it is very sentimentally special, the element of a pearl is very, very sentimentally special to Ariana. He wanted to include that in the ring.”

The couple proved their relationship was still going strong in April when Grande shared sweet snaps of the pair’s life together, including a kiss under the stars.

She wrote online: “!!! my heart my person !!! thank u so much for being u.”

News they had tied the knot over the weekend emerged on Monday.

Solow was also behind Ariana’s wedding band.

“It’s a beautiful, tasteful platinum and diamond pave band,” a spokesperson for the jeweller told E! News. “Dalton was very happy with it.”

Grande was previously engaged to comedian Pete Davidson, with the pair having a fairly public relationship.

It would appear the singer wanted to approach love differently this time around.

In April 2020, she reposted a video from British actor Florence Pugh, in which she spoke about her relationship with Zach Braff, and added: “Beautifully worded and deeply appreciated. Sharing special, personal life things that make you happy on the internet can be truly traumatic.

“I know I’ve taken a step back from doing so to protect my loved ones and myself but I just wanted to share this and let you know how perfectly you expressed this and how appreciated you are for doing so @florencepugh.”
