While the Mikel Arteta “process” has certainly endured teething problems thus far, it is at least clear that those behind the scenes at Emirates Stadium are looking to what could potentially be a brighter road ahead.
Clearly, merely updating the look of the dressing room will do little to allay on-field concerns but it does speak to a wider project.
Indeed, after a big summer spend that largely focused on bringing young players to the club, there is hope of a new-look Arsenal getting back on the right track in an effort to restore former glories.
In a departure from the previous style that mirrored that of the set-up at Highbury, the home changing room is now fitted with a bright red light between the players’ seats.
A large club badge that covers the floor is the centre point of the room and the renovation also extends to the tunnel.
Red walls now line up either side of a black floor and ceiling and they are donned with bright white lights, as well as a rough translation of the Latin “Victoria Concordia Crescit” motto to have adorned their old badge.
Tellingly, the message reads “victory through unity”, which is perhaps an indication of the thinking amid what looks like a long-term rebuild.
