Furious residents in Whitby left an angry note on an Aston Martin that had amassed four parking tickets in one weekend.

The owner of the £150,000 vehicle had left the car parked on double yellow lines on Friday evening, at the start of a weekend visit to the north Yorkshire resort.

A resident, who chose to remain anonymous, said the driver had received the first ticket on Friday, then another on Saturday.

After returning to the car, which was parked on a narrow road with two sets of yellow lines, the driver removed the two parking tickets – but left the car where it was.

On Sunday, residents took matters into their own hands as one placed a note on the luxury car – alongside a third parking ticket – that read: "I am so rich I park where I want."

The resident said: "The chap must have seen this because he then took the tickets and the nice note, got in his car and drove away."

However, the man appeared to have simply driven round the block before returning to park outside the resident’s property.

On Monday morning, the Aston Martin remained parked on double yellow lines, receiving its fourth ticket over the long weekend.

Commenting on the situation, another resident said: "Parking must still be at a premium in Whitby, because a £150k Aston Martin collected four penalty tickets after being parked on double yellows in two different locations this weekend.

"We noticed it on Back St Hilda's on Saturday night."
