Man City are a maximum of three wins from the Premier League title after beating Aston Villa 2-1 this evening.
An eventful game saw both sides have a man sent off but was decided by Rodri’s first-half header, which came after Phil Foden’s goal had cancelled out John McGinn’s opener inside the first 20 seconds.
John Stones was the City player to see red and he will now miss Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Tottenham, with Matty Cash the Villa man to earn an early bath for two yellows in quick succession.
City’s quadruple dream was ended by Chelsea in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, but this was the perfect response as they moved 11 points clear of Manchester United at the top of the league.
