Austria's Voestalpine determined to keep its operations in Britain

VIENNA (Reuters) - Austrian speciality steelmaker Voestalpine (VOES.VI) will continue its operations in Britain no matter how the country's relationship with the European Union is shaped in the future, its chief executive said on Monday.

"We will definitely remain loyal to Britain," Wolfgang Eder told journalists in Vienna, when asked whether there were any scenarios under which Voestalpine would withdraw from the Britain in connection with the country's planned divorce from the bloc.

"The question is, do we stick with what we have there, or do we expand further," he said.

Voestalpine has 10 locations including four production sites in the country and generates sales of around 300 million euros (268.13 million pounds), or 2 percent of group sales, there.
