The video of the clash, which seems right out of a Bollywood film and occurred in a busy market of Baraut town in Baghpat, has since gone viral bringing to the fore the law and order situation in the state.
News agency ANI reported that the melee broke out between two groups of 'chaat' shopkeepers even as they competed with each other to attract customers.
"Eight people have arrested and action is being taken," ANI quoted a police official as saying.
The video is being widely shared on social media with some users calling the clash 'hand-to-hand combat'.
