If you are one of the many, many, MANY people who have tuned into Ted Lasso since it launched in 2020, we’re guessing you’ll agree that the most brilliant things about the Apple TV show are Ted’s upbeat personality, Roy Kent’s hairy chest, and the biscuits Ted brings his boss Rebecca every morning.

As a way of getting in the AFC Richmond’s owner’s good books when he takes over as coach of the football team, Ted brings Rebecca biscuits every morning – and to begin with she’s none the wiser that Ted has been lovingly baking them himself.

Like Rebecca, we’ve become obsessed with the crumbly little biscuits and the super-cute pink box they come in. So, when we saw that Apple TV had released the exact recipe to make Ted’s legendary biscuits, we just had to share it with you guys. And the best part is, these shortbread biscuits are insanely easy to make and only have four ingredients in them.

Ingredients:

  • 250g plain flour

  • 225g butter, softened

  • 75g icing sugar

  • ¼ tsp. salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 150°

  2. Sift flour and salt, mix into bowl and set aside.

  3. Mix butter with an electric whisk until high speed until fluffy (3 - 5 minutes). Gradually add sugar slowly, continuing to mix until pale and fluffy. Add flour all at once and mix until combined.

  4. Butter a square pan.

  5. Pat and roll the shortbread into the pan no more than 1/2-inch thick. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Cut it into squares.

  6. Bake until golden and make sure the middle is firm, approximate bake time 45 - 60 minutes then cool completely.

In the words of Roy, these f**king biscuits are f**king fantastic.
