Bank of England completes 10 bln stg corporate bond QE scheme
LONDON, April 27 (Reuters) - The Bank of England said on Thursday it had completed 10 billion pounds ($12.9 billion) of corporate bond purchases announced in August as part of measures to forestall a feared slowdown after Britain voted to leave the European Union.
The BoE has been purchasing several hundred million pounds worth of corporate bonds most weeks since September, alongside 60 billion pounds of government bonds and an ongoing programme of cheap finance to banks.
The BoE said total corporate bond purchases reached 9.978 billion pounds as of April 26.
"Therefore there will be no Corporate Bond Purchase Scheme operations until further notice," the central bank said.
Loans to banks under its Term Funding Scheme amount to 57.525 billion pounds. ($1 = 0.7759 pounds) (Reporting by David Milliken, editing by Andy Bruce)
