In a new conversation, Barkha Singh stated that landing the role of junior Kareena Kapoor Khan in the film 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge' wasn't simple, and she was chosen from a pool of 600 to 700 girls. She went on to say that there were five rounds of auditions. She was cast in part after a series of the audition process.

She (Barkha Singh) has earned a master's degree in mass communication with honours from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. During her marketing and business school years, she had attended classes at the University of Berkeley. She carries a master's degree in sociology.
