BBC One viewers loved Little Mix's new talent show The Search
The viewer verdict is in on Little Mix's new talent show The Search, and viewers loved everything about it.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson were originally searching for a new support act for their summer 2020 tour, but transmission was halted by COVID-19.
The show is set to build four different groups – boyband, mixed group, girl vocal and vocal and instruments – and the winning band will get to join them on the tour when it goes ahead, which is planned for next summer at the moment.
Tonight's (September 26) debut episode followed the girls as they searched for the next big boyband.
After some really great solo performances (there were no cringe ones on this show) in front of Little Mix, the girls chose their favourites to go through to the Band Room and the next round, while some were sent home.
They then whittled the boys down from 10 to seven, where they then had to perform as a group in front of a live audience, before the final five were revealed.
Little Mix decided Adam, Zeekay, Talis, Lee and Kaci had all made the cut and are officially the first band ready to battle for the spot on the tour.

Little Mix fans flooded social media with praise for the girls and the show, and on the whole, viewers really loved it.
Viewers were really impressed with the great technical advice the girls were giving the contestants, which is something that doesn't happen too often.
Honestly love the vibe of #LittleMixTheSearch - @LittleMix make the contestants so comfortable and are constructive like even if you don’t get through you get some solid advice. Nobody being degraded or mocked. I can’t wait to see the groups they make!

Strange never heard Simon cowell give that type of technical advice ‘have you got a 2nd song’ ‘don’t like what you’re wearing’ ‘can you ditch your uncle’ #LittleMixTheSearch

Actually loving #LittleMixTheSearch first show I’ve ever seen actual vocal terminology being mentioned to help them further rather than talking about the outfits not being right etc.

Viewers liked how quickly the auditions moved through the stages, from the initial audition all the way through to the final band and there wasn't any time for the usual reality TV sob stories.
I am loving the format of #LittleMixTheSearch because it cuts out all the crap from X Factor and has actual talent 👏

Really enjoyed that, didn’t drag on and got the boyband formed in 1 episode and Little Mix were great mentors #LittleMixTheSearch
